BioHitech America, LLC Receives Grand Recognition at the 2008 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show for New “Green” Technology

MONTVALE, NJ (Nov 14, 2008) – BioHitech’s high volume organic waste decomposition  technology, launched earlier this year, received grand recognition at the 2008 International  Hotel/Motel & Restaurant show at the Jacob K. Javits Center in NYC, receiving the prestigious  award for Innovation in Green Technology for their GOHBio 1001 Series.

The decomposition unit, which is energy-efficient and made of stainless steel, breaks down food  waste into a liquid within 24 hours, enabling the waste to be safely disposed of down the drain.

Resultantly, green house gases are reduced, landfill space and fuel are preserved, and ultimately,  dependency on fossil fuels and other foreign oil sources declines. Additionally, overall costs  associated with work flow efficiencies, janitorial supplies and general operational management  of the organic waste flow stream are minimized. The technology benefits any commercial food  preparatory work site application generating a high volume of organic waste, including; grocery  chains, hotels, hospitals and universities.

Operating the GOHBio 1200 model at full capacity for 1 year will reduce emissions of 470,000  pounds of CO2 and 58 MTCE of greenhouse gases. That is equivalent to taking 40 cars off the  road, saving 1200 gallons of diesel fuel, and planting almost 100 trees.

"Our product has undergone years of rigorous testing, so we are very excited about finally bringing our technology to market at a time when it is needed most. Our technology provides  our customers with a way to actively contribute to environmental sustainability, while also providing them with significant economical benefits and improved work flow efficiencies in the  process," said Frank E. Celli, CEO of BioHitech America. "It's a win-win situation for everyone,  most importantly, for our environmental infrastructure."

"The savings we have experienced in hauling costs have been substantial, but the benefits which  have been the most gratifying have been the improvements in general morale with our  employees. Our employees feel empowered when they use the technology. They feel they are  actively contributing to the preservation of our environment, and feel proud to be working for an  organization to which environmental stewardship is pursued in a genuine way," commented Sue  Miller Payton, Vice President of Marketing for Fairway Market.

The award-winning technology is already installed in many well known grocery chains, hotels,  hospitals and universities coast to coast. The GOHBio 1001 series, manufactured by BioHitech  International, is available in 3 stock models with customization available to accommodate  special capacity requirements and work site specifications.

BioHitech America is an industry leader in comprehensive organic waste disposal with over 60  years collective waste services experience.
